Heyo!
Everyone’s talking about dark mode in iOs 13 but the real big news is Apple Shortcuts. You can basically automate anything FROM YOUR PHONE!
You can create shortcuts – manual triggers that fire off a series of tasks – or automations – actions that happen automatically based on a trigger.
Some examples:
Automatically set phone to do not disturb when you join home/work wifi (screenshot here)
Calculate the travel time from current location to home and send ETA to my (imaginary) partner (screenshot here)
I’m surprised that a lot of business apps are missing from Apple shortcuts (no Zoom, Slack or Gmail) but I expect that to come eventually.
I’ve just started exploring Apple Shortcuts. I’ll keep adding the automations I create to this twitter thread. Feel free to chyme with yours.
If you’re on Android, I’ve got no solutions for ya :(
Your friendly automator,
Aron
PS I’ll be on a more regular schedule starting this week - expect weekly updates from here on out.
